Color Guide
Polène Cerise Noire (Black Cherry) Bags
Polène's Cerise Noire — the deep burgundy that's nearly black. The most coveted seasonal colour. Shop Cyme, Numéro Neuf in Cerise Noire from €200.

Cerise Noire (literally 'Black Cherry') is the cult-status Polène colour — a saturated burgundy that reads almost black in low light but reveals deep red undertones in sunlight. It's the most-photographed Polène on Pinterest after Camel Grained.
It's also one of the harder colours to keep in stock. Polène produces Cerise Noire in limited drops; we've sold out 4 times in the past 12 months and watched resale prices on Vestiaire Collective hold above retail. If you've been hesitating, the Cerise Noire is the colour we'd recommend not to wait on.
Why Cerise Noire
- 1.Reads as a sophisticated alternative to plain black — adds dimension without sacrificing versatility.
- 2.Holds resale value above retail in some periods — the only Polène colour with regular waitlists on Vestiaire Collective.
- 3.Perfectly seasonal-then-evergreen — looks specifically right for autumn/winter but works year-round.

Styling Cerise Noire
Cerise Noire pairs spectacularly with wine reds, deep greens, navy, charcoal, and warm cream. The most-photographed combinations: Cerise Noire Cyme Mini + ivory cashmere coat; Cerise Noire Numéro Neuf + olive trousers + cream knit. Avoid bright pastels — they fight the depth of the leather.
Caring for Cerise Noire leather
Cerise Noire's deep saturation can transfer onto very light-colored fabrics in heavy friction (silk slip dresses are the highest-risk pairing). Condition every 6 weeks with Saphir Renovateur. Surface scratches are nearly invisible due to the dark undertone.

Frequently asked questions
Is Cerise Noire black or red?
Both. In low light or under artificial indoor lighting, Cerise Noire reads as black. In daylight, the deep burgundy/cherry undertone reveals itself. It's effectively a 'dark mood' alternative to plain black with much more depth.
Will Cerise Noire stain light clothes?
Light dye transfer is possible on very pale silk or rayon fabrics under heavy friction. With normal wear (against denim, wool, cotton), no transfer. The leather is fully fixed and doesn't bleed in rain.
Is the Cerise Noire Cyme Mini hard to find?
Yes — it's our #1 sell-out item. Polène produces Cerise Noire in limited drops 3–4 times per year. We typically restock within 4–8 weeks of a sell-out.
